As high-performing as it is gentle, the serum sinks effortlessly into the eye contours to visibly fade fine lines and infuse the eye area with vitality and radiance. Plus, just like the original r-Retinoate Day & Night Serum, the next generation formula can be used in the day as well as the night for accelerated results. Additional eye care ingredients including caffeine for dark circles and hesperidin for puffiness have been included to promote a more even, bright and radiant eye area. 

Photostability

Light stability is a huge drawback of Retinol – it simply degrades and becomes inactive when exposed to light. As a molecule, Retinyl Retinoate is inherently photostable, but the addition of a poly-lactic acid shell provides extra protection against UV light making it one of the only retinoids that can be used both during the day and at night. 

Sensitivity

One size fits all is a rarity in the skincare world, but r-Retinoate is the exception as it’s suitable for most skin types including sensitive and reactive skins. Additionally, there is no need for a ‘retinol ladder’ whereby users build up to daily use of vitamin A. r-Retinoate can be used both day and night, every day, immediately. 

Encapsulation

r-Retinoate only uses encapsulated Retinyl Retinoate which, unlike its un-encapsulated sister, is patented by Medik8 around the world. As published in Skin Research & Technology, the encapsulated form works 4 X faster than the un-encapsulated form, with visible results after only four weeks of use.
