Devil Red Ombre Nail Art Step by Step

Something red hot to match the current heatwave - Salon System nail expert Julie Anne has created a Red Ombre Step by Step using GELLUX Devil Red.

Step 1 Prepare the nails. File to shape and push back cuticles and buff nail plate. Cleanse nails with GELLUX Prep + Wipe.

Step 2 Apply GELLUX Fast Bond to nails and let dry. Apply GELLUX Cover Pink Base Coat, and cure.

Step 3 Apply GELLUX Devil Red to 2/3 of the nail, don’t cure.

Step 4 Using an ombre brush or fan brush, start blending the colour upwards by dabbing gently side to side then up. Making sure you clean dry your brush frequently to avoid product build up, and cure.

Step 5 Repeat Step 3, but this time covering only half the nails with the GELLUX Devil Red, don’t cure. Then repeat Step 4, and cure.

Step 6 Apply GELLUX Cover Pink Base Coat to the top 1/3 of the nails, don’t cure.

Step 7 Using an ombre brush, blend the GELLUX Cover Pink Base. Coat downwards, and cure

Step 8 On a piece of foil or palette, mix 1 part GELLUX Cover Pink Base Coat to 2 parts GELLUX Easy Off Base Coat to create a sheer nude. With a gel brush apply the mix over the entire nail with a thicker layer on top 1/3 of the nail and a thinner layer on the rest of the nail, and cure.

Step 9 Gentle dab some GELLUX Dazzle on the side of each nails, then cure.

Step 10 Apply GELLUX Top Coat, and cure. Wipe with GELLUX Prep+ Wipe and apply GELLUX Nail & Cuticle Oil.
