How to Recreate the Tiktok Trend "Anime Lashes"

Ruth Atkins, Salon System educator and lash expert shares her top tips on achieving the anime (manga) lashes that are the latest beauty trend sweeping over Tik Tok.

This look can easily be recreated using the Salon System lashes and lash treatments.  Depending on how long you want them to last depends on which treatment you go for.  Here are just some ways to achieve this ‘doll’ ‘spikey’ and high lift lash style.

Using clients’ own lashes

For the quickest and shortest wear – simply curl lashes using a manual lash curler.  Apply several generous layers of mascara, and before fully drying, take a tweezer and pinch sections of your lashes together – almost creating a ‘wet look’.  This method can also be done on the lower lashes.  This is a fun ‘try at home look’ you can share with your customers who love to experiment.

Using lash lift

Using the smallest curler despite the length of the natural lash, proceed to lift the lashes as usual.  Once completed use a booster lotion and pinch a few lashes together as above to create this spikey look.  The booster will gently hold the lashes in place whilst conditioning them.  Use the boost lotion each time you want to create this look before applying mascara.  The lift will last for between 4-6 weeks and can be enhanced as above with plenty of mascara.

Going down the false route

Using strip lashes – for daily wear

For the easiest and quickest way to achieve this look, apply a 008 Salon System Lash Lux lash.  This already created lash gives that doll style look and again can be enhanced using mascara and pinching the longest lashes together.  The Lash Lux 009 is also a great strip lash to achieve this look with added mascara.  Apply using the clear lash glue and place above or below your lash line, your choice, pinch into place when semi dry and enjoy for the day.  The Salon System strip lash glue has fantastic holding power and stays for 14hrs.  It also is latex free, so great for sensitive eyes.  To remove simple pinch and pull at the end of the day.  If used without added mascara – you can wear them up to at least 6 times.

Using individual lashes and glue for 7 – 10 days wear

For those who want to be able to wear this lash look for just over a week and be able to sleep, swim, wash etc. in them, then use a variety of the Salon System Individual Lash Clusters are ideal.  These lashes come in various lengths and styles but to achieve this look use the following.

Thoroughly clean the lashes using a non-oily cleanser, curl with a mechanical lash curler and thoroughly dry the lashes before application.  Apply 5 wispy textured individual lashes in medium, one in the center of the lash, one on each end, and one in between the two.  The lashes are already a cluster of 3 lashes finishing in a point.  On either side of these lashes, slot in Salon System Mink Style individual cluster lashes in short.  These lashes are fluffy and super soft.  Keep the lashes free from product and make-up to get maximum wear and remove using the lash remover on day 10.  For the added height, finish once more with a mechanical eyelash curler for more lift.

You can also use this lash plan and lashes using the strip lash glue and remove at night. Great for a special occasion where it might be difficult getting them removed. Using the strip lash glue, to remove gently pinch and pull, then remove any excess glue with an oily eye make-up remover.

Using Marvelash Lash Extensions for long term continuos wear

Salon System has the perfect lashes to be able to recreate this look.  Prepare the lashes as usual and lash map directly onto the eye pads.  Mark up 5 strategic points (central, ends, and equal distance in between).  Use Marvelash 14mm and 15mm lashes in D (0.20mm) at these sites, creating spikes at these points.  In between use a variety of Mink Style D lashes (0.07mm) in 10mm,11mm and 12mm lengths to fill in.  Apply to single lashes for long term wear and return to the salon in 2-4 weeks for infills. For a quicker treatment but still creating the same effect, use the same lash map but apply pre-made fans instead of single lashes.
