HydraTite: The Ultimate ‘Party Ready’ Facial

Last week we visited the luxurious Skin Plus IQ Clinic in the heart of Chelsea to try out their signature HydraTite treatment.

The reason why the HydraTite treatment is so exclusive is because it requires a salon to have two machines - both a Hydrafacial machine and the versatile InMode machine - which can be quite costly for a salon.

Hydratite combines two of Skin+IQ’s most-loved tweakments: the Hydrafacial and Forma by InMode. They’re impressive separately but come together to deliver next-level results for party perfect skin, in just one hour.

The treatment begins with a Hydrafacial, to clear dead skin cells, boost hydration and supercharge the condition of the skin. And after that, your face will be treated to a Forma treatment; for skin tightening.

By treating your skin to a Hydrafacial first (which extracts bacteria, clogged pores and dirt) your complexion will be more receptive to the powers of Forma; meaning the results will be enhanced.

HydraTite gives truly impressive, noticeable results after just one session - making it the perfect first foray into aesthetics for newbies. There's no pain (no, really!) No downtime  and no needles. Just a combination of two cutting-edge treatments that'll leave your skin clearer, hydrate and glowing in just 60 minutes which means it’s the perfect facial for the Christmas party season.

The treatment:

Our HydraTite treatment took 90 minutes and consisted of several stages.

  1. Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Lymphatic drainage massage is a form of gentle massage that encourages the movement of lymph fluids around the body. The fluid in the lymphatic system helps remove waste and toxins from the bodily tissues. Some health conditions can cause lymph fluid to build up. As part of the treatment, the lymphatic drainage massage increased circulation to the face, reducing puffiness and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  2. Double Deep Cleanse - Hydrafacial

A deep cleanse will help unclog pores, hence purifying the skin. Double cleansing is essential when removing makeup to properly dislodge foundation and pollution particles.

  3. Peel

The treatment incorporated a 30% glycolic acid peel to help reduce fine lines, acne and areas of hyperpigmentation. This concentration will only peel the surface layer of the skin, which is helpful for mild hyperpigmentation and doesn’t require any downtime.

  4. Radio Frequency - Forma by Inmode

The Forma by InMode part of the treatment uses radio frequency to heat up the skin to 40/42 degrees, stimulating collagen and thereby plumping up the skin. During Froma, the machine would count active minutes at the optimal temperature to ensure that no area of the skin got too hot. A conductor was used so that the radiofrequency did not burn the skin.

  5. Extraction

While the extraction phase is often after the peel and before the radio frequency - in our case, we had the extraction after the radio frequency due to sensitivity of the skin. Extraction was the perfect time to look at the overall condition of the skin and remove any blackheads.

  6. Booster

The final stage of the treatment is choosing a booster that is most suitable for the skin which allows this treatment to be highly customisable and align with your skin goals. We went with a Peptide booster to hydrate the skin and counteract the peeling process which would be jumpstarted by the Glycolic peel.

What is a Hydrafacial?

Hydrafacial treatments take just thirty minutes, making them one of the fastest and most effective facials out there. No wonder it’s so popular with A-listers and beauty editors alike! After only half an hour you’re left with an instantly glowing, radiant complexion; thanks to this three-step treatment.

With fans such as Kate Winslet and Beyoncé, the Hydrafacial combines a gentle peel with a deep cleanse and pore extraction - and a cocktail of hydrating ingredients that dive deep into your skin, saturating it with anti-oxidants for an undeniable glow.

Acne is soothed, hyperpigmentation is tackled and the appearance of wrinkles is lessened; for brighter, clearer, tighter skin with zero downtime.

The first step of the treatment deeply cleanses and gently exfoliates the skin, removing dead skin cells and debris that can cause the skin to appear dull. Next up is the extract and hydrate stage; responsible for clearing pores. The final step perfects, with a heavy dose of hydration for ultra-fresh, dewy and hydrated skin.

And what is Forma?

Forma is a skin tightening and lifting treatment that uses radiofrequency (RF) to support the production of new collagen and elastin; rejuvenating, lifting and sculpting the skin (with zero downtime!)

The RF energy gets to work in the deeper layers of your skin for long-term results & an improved appearance... that'll last long after party season is over. It works particularly well on the forehead, crow’s feet, upper and lower eyelids, cheeks and smile lines.

Forma facial treatments typically take around 30 minutes and an hour. During your treatment, a cooling jelly is applied to the skin (to allow the RF to conduct) and the treatment is delivered using a handpiece (which looks a little like a wand, and is simply glided over the skin.)
