In the lead up to Christmas, Black Friday spa sales have always been a popular consumer purchase, but 2021 has seen them soar to a record high.

SpaSeekers, the UK’s longest-standing spa booking agency, reports spa sales revenue was up a whopping 93% on 2019 figures with the average order value increasing by 27% with the number of orders up 51%.

A record 500,000 visitors came to the SpaSeekers website during this period with the highest volumes from the South East, Midlands and Yorkshire.  The company also saw a noticeable increase in people buying more than one voucher, indicating that self gifting has become more popular.

Announcing the figures, SpaSeekers’ Director, Jason Goldberg, said “We were expecting some good sales this Black Friday period but it really has outperformed our expectations.  The biggest surprise is that the average basket spend has increased so much.  What with these results and our new partnership with Tesco Clubcard which has opened up a significant new audience, our spa partners are seeing even greater demand for their spa services. “
