Urban Decay Ends 15-Year Partnership with Skindinavia as Manufacturer Responds

Urban Decay, owned by L'Oréal, has ended its 15-year manufacturing partnership with Skindinavia for the iconic "All Nighter" setting spray. In a public statement, Skindinavia has taken to social media to express its disappointment and accuse Urban Decay of "bullying."

Skindinavia claims that Urban Decay's new formulation for the setting spray no longer includes Skindinavia's patented cooling ingredients. The original formula is protected by US patent 9198840 sharing their statement on instagram:

"Since 2010, Skindinavia has proudly made the All Nighter Setting Spray for Urban Decay. It was the first and only make-up setting spray to work by cooling the make-up, not just sealing it. Our partnership was built on trust, sealed with a handshake and carried on for 15 wonderful years. Sadly, Urban Decay and its parent company L'Oréal have chosen to end the partnership with Skindinavia."

The statement continues, "To promote their new setting spray, Urban Decay has taken to social media to diminish the existing All Nighter setting Spray formula – which Skindinavia will still make. Most brands cannot stand up to big companies. But Skindinavia will – and we hope this might inspire others to do the same when being bullied. Our award-winning formula is still here for you. It will only change when you decide it should, not us."

Urban Decay has been teasing an updated version of the "All Nighter" setting spray, claiming it "lasts longer than ever with 24hr wear, finer mist, temperature cooling technology and a refreshed scent." This new version is set to be released on July 31st.
